Murphy Marine’s proven ability at handling refrigerated products, coupled with the Port of Wilmington’s premier temperature controlled facilities result in Wilmington being the world's largest banana port and the nation's leading gateway for imports of fresh fruit and produce.

Dole Fresh Fruit Company and Chiquita Fresh North America have made Wilmington their Home-Port, with once a week year-round arrivals carrying bananas and other tropical fruits.   From here products are distributed to a market of over 200 million consumers.

From December to April Pacific Seaways carries Chilean table grapes, plums, peaches, nectarines, apples, pears and other deciduous fruit into Wilmington. The fruit is stored in the port’s state-of-the-art cold storage facility until its distribution to US and Canadian markets.

During the spring months the Port welcomes the arrival of fresh apples, pears and kiwifruit from Chile and New Zealand.  

Moroccan Clementines discharged in Wilmington in the fall are destined to US and Canadian markets.
